Arbeiter-Samariterbund Bundesportal

TYPO3 multisite portal for Arbeiter-Samariterbund Austria: national body, regional branches, and local chapters managed from one shared backend.

back to overview

The Arbeiter-Samariterbund Austria (ASB) is one of the country's largest humanitarian organisations, with around 360,000 members and supporters. Its work spans emergency services and patient transport, nursing care, social support, disaster relief, youth programmes, and first-aid training — carried out by more than 12,000 paid and volunteer staff across nine provinces. Bundesverband (the national body), nine Landesverbände (regional branches), and dozens of local chapters all need a coherent digital presence that can be managed without turning every update into an IT project.

  • TYPO3 multisite platform: the national body, all regional branches, and local chapters share a single CMS backend
  • Multiple successive relaunches managed — from the initial build through to current WCAG 2.1 accessibility requirements
  • One-click chapter-page creation module: new local groups get their own site — including a news feed, image gallery, and contact form — instantly
  • Integrated job board for the organisation's ongoing recruitment needs (added in 2017)
  • Ongoing SEO maintenance and TYPO3 updates for a portal with national reach
  • GDPR-compliant integration of the donation form and membership sign-up
  • Accessibility standards met so that people searching for emergency services, care options, or the nearest branch can always find what they need

The result is a single, dependable hub connecting thousands of staff and volunteers across Austria — and giving anyone in need a fast route to emergency services, nursing care, or the closest local chapter. The TYPO3 multisite platform built with rockit has scaled steadily alongside the ASB and proves that digital infrastructure for emergency organisations needs to be just as reliable as the ambulance.
