The Christian Doppler Research Association (CDG) is Austria's central institution for application-oriented basic research. Founded in 1988, it bridges academia and industry through two funding programmes: Christian Doppler Laboratories hosted at universities and research institutions, and Josef Ressel Centres at universities of applied sciences. Research groups at these units work on business-relevant questions with direct industry involvement — co-financed by the Federal Ministry, the Austrian National Foundation for Research, Technology and Development, and participating companies. Since 2021, the CDG has been formally established as a central federal research funding body under Austria's Research Financing Act.

  • Bilingual platform (DE/EN) serving researchers, industry partners, and government stakeholders
  • Searchable laboratory database covering active and completed CD Labs and Josef Ressel Centres
  • Structured programme pages with clear eligibility and application information for prospective partners
  • News and events section for research results, calls for proposals, and CDG announcements
  • All multilingual content managed centrally through a single TYPO3 backend
  • Clear information architecture designed for distinct audiences: researchers, companies, and ministries
  • Accessible implementation meeting WCAG 2.1 standards for a public sector organisation

The result is a multilingual platform that makes research funding navigable — whether you are a scientist applying for a laboratory or a company looking to join as an industry partner. Built with rockit, the TYPO3 solution brings programmes, lab data, and news into one editorially manageable system.
