When a top researcher is recruited to Vienna, a family usually comes with the offer — and that is exactly where the Dual Career Service at MedUni Vienna steps in. The service helps accompanying partners find a professional foothold, sorts out schooling and childcare questions, and connects newcomers with universities and research institutions across Vienna, Lower Austria and Upper Austria. The site dualcareer.ac.at is the regional network's central hub and had to deliver more than a typical university subpage.
- TYPO3 relaunch as a shared platform for a network of universities and research bodies covering three federal states
- Accessible front-end aligned with WCAG 2.1, so content stays usable for applicants with disabilities
- Multilingual platform (German / English) with clearly separated language trees for an international audience
- Responsive layout that works on desktop, tablet and smartphone — research from the road, not just the office
- Internal message board and notification system for the coordinators of the participating institutions
- Screen design in collaboration with Catarina Tost, followed by TYPO3 editorial training for the in-house team
With rockit, MedUni Vienna and its partner universities now share a reliable tool that does double duty: internationally recruited researchers find structured information before they arrive, and the network coordinates internally through its own board — research location and family life under one roof.
