In the early 2010s, Hotelbiz was the digital meeting point for Austria’s hospitality sector: a B2B trade portal where hoteliers, suppliers and event organisers could keep track of fairs, industry trends and networking dates. The operator behind it — today’s n.b.s GmbH, based in Perchtoldsdorf near Vienna — wanted a presence the in-house team could maintain themselves, without picking up the phone for every change.
- Brand and visual design covering layout, imagery and editorial structure

- PHP and Zend back end, tuned to the hosting realities the industry worked with at the time

Not every project is a TYPO3 project: for Hotelbiz, Backbase was the right fit because the editorial model and data structures lined up cleanly with what the platform offered. The brand has since evolved into BIZ, with its own MICE and corporate-wellness fairs — and the platform rockit built back then carried Hotelbiz into that next chapter.
