Naturidyll-Hotels is an Austrian hotel cooperative that brings small, owner-run properties across several federal states under one shared brand. Each member hotel had long maintained its master data in a central hotel inventory system (Hellmedia WCMS) — convenient for the hosts, but a dead end when it came to search engines. Naturidyll-Hotels needed a portal of its own that respected existing editorial workflows and still showed up on Google.
- A TYPO3 portal as the new digital home of the cooperative
- A custom TYPO3 extension that pulls hotel data from the Hellmedia WCMS via XML
- Hotel domain model cleanly modelled with Extbase and Fluid
- A command controller that syncs inventory in the background on a regular schedule
- Search engine optimisation woven through templates, URLs and copy
- Design and information architecture aligned with the brand’s nature-and-cuisine focus
- Multilingual setup for international guests
The outcome: hoteliers keep editing their data where they always have, while the public face runs on a portal built to be found in a fiercely competitive tourism market. The platform delivered with rockit has served Naturidyll-Hotels ever since as a single point of contact for guests looking for quiet stays away from mass destinations.
